Vermicelli upma

Ingredients for :

1 cup vermicelli

3 tsp oil

4 green chillies

1 carrot

1/2 cup frozen green peas

3/4 tsp salt or to taste

1/2 tsp sugar or to taste

1/4 cup green beans

1/4 tsp mustard seeds

1/2 tsp black gram dal

1 tsp chana dal

Few curry leaves

1 1/2 cup water

Preparation

1- Heat 1 tsp oil, add vermicelli and roast on a medium flame till golden brown. Remove from pan and keep aside.

2- Chop the vegetables

3- Heat oil in a skillet and put mustard seeds. When they splutter, add black gram dal and chana dal and fry till golden brown. Add curry leaves and slit green chillies, Saute for a while.

4- Add the chopped beans, carrots, and peas. Add salt and sugar to taste , cover and cook until the vegetables are tender.

5- Add 1 1/2 cups of water and mix well. When the water comes to a boil, add roasted vermicelli to it and lower the flame. Cover and cook till all the water evaporates.

6- Serve hot.
