When you are anxious and you want to be calm just breath slowly as a calm person would breath and you will become calm.
If you feel defeated and depressed take a walk. Notice how you are walking. Now walk tall and with purpose. Soon the feelings of depression will abate.
If you feel sad and have experienced disappointment go into a dark room and dwell with your inner experience noticing your posture and your breathing. Now go into the light - a sunny room or a bright room. Set upright making yourself as upright as you can. Put your face into a smile and look into the light letting it flood the brain with its energy. Breath deep and hold the breaths for three counts. Repeat the breathing pattern for several minutes. Ask yourself where the sadness has gone.
Our breath, our posture, our movement, and our environment are all tools at our disposal. When utilized they provide far better and quicker results than drugs, food, or drinking, the ways that we conventionally alter our internal environment. There is no hangover, no addiction, and no adverse health consequence.
